Our garden helpers are a vital part of our mission. Our gardens are created not only as a food source, but as a community building operation. We encourage local community members to come together to work, learn, and empower one another. Without the willing labor of the community, these projects would not succeed.

    WAIVER AND RELEASE
    ​

    I agree to the voluntary involvement in activities at the Jones Gardens (known in this document as the Release Party) community garden, outlined below.
    I hereby am aware, accept, and assume all risks (foreseen and unforeseen) associated with the involvement in this community garden including:

                Injury. I take absolute responsibility of an injury occurring to me and/or any dependents, guests, or individuals under legal guardianship under my care during my visit at Jones Garden. I release Jones Garden as well as all affiliates including officers, board members, directors, employees, volunteers, landowner, and representatives (known as “Release Party”) from any and all “Claims” and assume all expenses and accountability associated therewith. (“Claims include any and all claims, demands, or actions taken as a result of my or my guests/dependents visit at the garden while in my presence or not). I therefore release any and all Claims and agree not to sue or take any legal action against the Released Party. 

                Food Illness. I understand that I will consume the food from Jones Garden at my own risk. I am aware that Jones Garden uses safe, organic gardening practices and that to Jones Garden’s knowledge there are no contaminates, poisonings, or otherwise harmful agents in the food grown at the garden. I hereby assume all possible risk of food illness. I release any and all claims related to my food consumption and agree not to sue or take any legal action against the Released Party.


    I agree to all of the following community garden rules:
    Visitors
    All visitors must help to maintain a neat and tidy appearance. All trash must be placed in the designated waste containers. Please do not leave your belongings in the garden. Jones Gardens will not be held responsible for visitors’ lost belongings. Strictly Prohibited: Profanity, smoking, alcohol use, drug use or drug dealing is NOT permitted on the premises. Jones Gardens reserves the right to ban anyone who does not comply. PETS: Pets are allowed, but must be leashed. Pets are only allowed in designated walkways and seating areas. Any mess caused by the pet must be cleaned up by the pet owner. For everyone’s safety, all visitors must be fully clothed while on the premises.

    Safety
    Jones Gardens is open from dawn to dusk. Visitors may NOT occupy the garden after dark for any reason. Visitors may not stand or climb on the raised beds or other garden structures.
    Peaceable Environment
    All visitors must maintain a respectful and peaceable environment. If any visitor is considered disruptive, disrespectful, or uncooperative in any way with volunteers, staff or other visitors, Jones Gardens reserves the right to forbid them from further visiting the garden. Jones Gardens is a family space. Please refrain from the use of profanity or any foul language.
    Honor System
    Community members who have not helped/participated in our operations or are not a part of Jones Gardens programs must pay the listed price for the produce obtained from the garden, unless otherwise arranged with Jones Gardens management. Food grown in this garden is prioritized for Staunton households. 
    Photo Release:
    Jones Gardens has my permission to use my photograph publically to share the work it is doing to fulfill its mission with the community. I understand that the images may be used in print publications, onljine publications, presentations, websites, and social media. I also understand that no royalty, fee or other compensation shall become payable to me by reason of such use.
