Fried Green Tomatoes
Ingredients:
Directions:
1. In a medium pan, heat your oil to about 375 degrees
2. Combine all of the dry breading ingredients in a medium bowl
3. In a separate bowl, pour in your buttermilk. Set aside
4. In a third separate bowl, crack in your whole eggs and whisk until fully combined
5. Slice your green tomatoes into 1/4 disks
6. Place tomato disks into the buttermilk, and allow to tenderize for about 10 minutes
7. When ready, place the tomatoes in the egg wash. Fully coat both sides then transfer to the dry breaded mix
8. Place the breaded tomatoes in the hot oil keeping a 1/2 in distance between each one for even cooking. Cook until golden brown.
9. Remove from oil and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil

- 2 medium sized green tomatoes

- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup plain panko bread crumbs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp dried dill
- Dash of paprika
